About Us

Our Story

Gambel Oaks Equestrian Center, owned and operated by Jim Hitt, has been serving Elizabeth, Colorado for over 20 years.  Gamble Oaks' main goal is to find out what discipline(s) best suits an equestrian and their horse.

What sets this amazing center apart is their training experience and success, both locally and nationally, in the show ring. Disciplines cover Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, English and Country English Pleasure, Reining, Trail, Reined Cow Horse and Working Cow Horse.

Teaching amateur/non-pro riders to become good horsemen and horsewomen is paramount.  Honing horsemanship skills and gaining knowledge of a rider's horse and it's mechanics are more important than creating a "puppet rider" that looks good in the show pen - as long as nothing goes wrong.

Gambel Oaks strives to maintain strong family morals and values through every facet of training, creating a positive environment not only for the horses but for the youth and adult riders as well.
